New challenge in Magic Academy
Magic Academy game was the first to become a base for the second game development. The main character common for both games is Irene. She is a student in the magic school and the first game told the mysterious story of her disappearance. The second game named Magic Academy II deals with a new mysterious plot connected with Irene.

There is a council in the Magic Academy where she studies. Irene’s sister Annie works there but when Irene start applying for the job some strange things happen. A very important secret document has been stolen from there and the council considered that it had done someone from the council.
Irene wants so much to get this job that agrees to assist in completing different tasks in order to find this document and a person who is to blame in its disappearance. The magicians give her hints and spells to make the main task realize.
Fortunately Irene specializes in searches and she performs well in looking for necessary rooms where needed objects are well hidden. That is what the game is all about. There are all traditional forms of searches are presented. You will need to find the thing looking at its outline, to see the difference between two almost the same pictures, to match the pairs or to find the things of one kind. All these tasks are very interesting and only sometimes some unclear images in graphics don’t allow recognizing some objects to be found.

Sometimes game fails when puzzles based on the inventory are presented. The hints are not clear and it is hard to get what to do. Glimmering objects have to be found but you can easily recognize them moving your mouse on the screen.
But there is not much logic in gathering items. You do different things with different items. Some of them can be added to your list of inventory but some cannot by some reason that is not explained. Nothing is clear on this matter and it is hard to distinguish why I can add some things to my list and some – cannot.
There is not much logic in other moments either. There is a stage where you hear suspicious sounds on the balcony. You make up your mind to look for some items that a robber could forget. You manage in finding a key to unlock a drawer. But how could it happen that a robber could leave evidence closed in this drawer?
There is one more task that drives me crazy. I mean the one where it is necessary to look at the outlines of runes to find them. Runes are disposed everywhere in the room but the problem is that that alter the shape all the time. So I need to click a hundred times on each one to distinguish the one I need.
Fortunately there are a lot of hints to be used for free. A few moments after you use a hint the surrounding of a needed object sparkles.
Though, I also found positive moments in the game. It consists of 23 chapters that a make up rather a long game for a trial version of the game. There is a funny surprise for you – you will have to deal with the professors that look like the same heroes in “Harry Potter”.
You will not feel tired of searches as there are many mini games to enjoy. Some of them may not seem perfect to you but still they are interesting enough to pass through them.
The next thing that I didn’t like very much was an opportunity to save the game only after a chapter is completed. So you will need to complete all the tasks there before you want to quit. If you don’t you will repeat passing them from the chapter beginning. I don’t consider it to be a grave drawback as all the chapters are not long.
Among a wide variety of hidden-object games I will not dare advise you choose this one. But if you are really interested in magic you should experience playing Magic Academy II.
